The H2O Variflow is a water pump which combines several features that are commonly additional options on a water pump (the most important of which is a variable flow).
The project was tricky for several reasons. It is difficult to make a water drop unique because it is already a very widely recognized and commonly used symbol. H2O had to be written as a chemical formula to be understood, greatly restricting our type possibilities. Most horribly, when the product name is written without spaces, as it will be on the internet, you can hardly avoid reading "ovary-flow" into it (h20variflow).
Separating the "H2O" and the "variflow" with the drop in the center and stacking the type eliminated the name problem, and geometrically illustrating the concept of variability in the drop produced a mark that is clear, unique and strong.
